Written By Cindy Jackson:

There's a new band on the block debuting at Cashmere Community Concerts, Saturday, April 25, at 7:30pm.   We are pleased to welcome to our stage a new band with familiar faces known as Old Growth.  After many years honing their powerful harmony vocals around Pacific Northwest campfires, Dale Adkins, Don Share and Joe Wilmhoff have decided to take their repertoire of soulful acoustic music to the stage.  The unique vocal connection between these three singers is the centerpiece of Old Growth.  The band features an eclectic repertoire of traditional and original music with deep roots in bluegrass, country, and folk.  The band’s instrumental firepower features the virtuosic lead guitar playing of Dale Adkins and the riveting fiddling of Paul Elliott.  Joe Wilmhoff (bass) and Don Share (guitar) provide a rhythm section and groove that won't fail to grab your attention.

Dale Adkins, guitar, banjo, vocals.  Dale is, quite simply, a Northwest guitar legend. Flatpick Guitar Magazine states: “he's really, really good, as in a major Force."  As a part of Grammy nominee Kate MacKenzie's touring band, Dale performed across the U.S. and Europe in the 1990s . Other musical collaborations include guitar legend Dan Crary, Frontline, True North, Leah Larson and many others.

Paul Elliott, fiddle.  Paul’s fiddle playing has the kind of explosive energy that grabs you and doesn’t let go. One of the most versatile, accomplished, and respected fiddle players on the West coast, he has performed with The Good Old Persons, John Reischman, Michelle Shocked, Alison Brown,  Buell Neidlinger, and others.

Don Share, guitar, vocals.  Don has been a mainstay of the Seattle bluegrass and acoustic music scene for over three decades.  He is an accomplished lead singer, a harmony singing ace, and a gifted rhythm guitarist. A founding member of the popular bluegrass bands Who’s Driving? and Rainy Pass, he  currently performs with the bluegrass stalwarts The DownTown Mountain Boys, and  the folk and country band, The Debutones.

Joe Wilmhoff, bass, vocals.  Born in the state of Kentucky, Joe has been performing for more than 25 years. He is a very diverse and multi-talented musician with a performing background rooted in College level classical piano and guitar. Over the years many styles of music including, classical, country, celtic, old-time, and rock & roll, help to create the creative drive that Joe displays from stage. He brings to the band strong vocals, original material, and is old Growth's powerhouse of rock solid rhythm.
